Record Number of Volunteers

Record Number of Volunteers

Our infamous It’s a Knockout event took place on Sunday 3rd June for the seventh consecutive year at Wormley Playing Fields. The highly anticipated event raised an incredible £8,000 profit, helping us to unite and rebuild the lives of more young people following a cancer diagnosis.

The event, sponsored by C&C Kitchens, bought the local community together, with businesses based in the area and local residents all taking to the inflatable assault course in a bid to be crowned the winning team. Family, friends and residents spectated on the day and enjoyed the BBQ, stalls and entertainment on offer.

A record number of volunteers helped to make the event a huge success, with 48 volunteers donating their time on the day; the highest number of volunteers to ever support a Teens Unite event. A total of 128.5 hours were collectively volunteered on the day; that's the equivalent of 18 working days!

We are currently celebrating Volunteers’ Week, which runs from 1st - 7th June and so we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who helped to make It's a Knockout such an amazing success, along with all of the other individuals who selflessly donate their time in other ways. To put it simply, our work couldn't happen without you.

Whether you can donate a little or a lot of your time- there will be a way to support us, from helping in the office, to spreading the word and raising money at fundraising events. To find out more click here or email volunteers@teensunite.org.
