Activity Stay Exceeds Expectations

This August, 18 of the young people supported by Teens Unite came together for a week long Activity Stay. It was a packed agenda, and they enjoyed a range of activities everyday - an art workshop, tai chi master class, a day at the Herts Young Mariners Base, and a traditional Sports Day. The evenings were spent with Karaoke, board games, a junk percussion workshop and relaxing over a take away.  The week culminated in a formal dinner where the young people dressed up, had professional make up and enjoyed a sumptuous dinner, and dancing to live music.

86% of those that attended said that the event Exceeded their Expectations.

And, 100% of the young people attending said that they would recommend signing up with Teens Unite to someone in their situation.

One of the young people said

This week has pushed my boundaries, got me talking to brand new people and made me believe in myself more than I have in while.  Even getting up at karaoke is something I would never have done in my normal life, but I felt safe enough to do it here.”
