World Cancer Day Could Take You to Croatia

We’re cranking up the gears here in the Teens Unite office as World Cancer Day is fast approaching on 4th February and we’re asking ‘where around the world will it take you?’

This year, we’re asking our supporters to commit to taking on one of our incredible challenges for Teens Unite and to kick things off, we wanted to tell you a little more about our upcoming cycle in Croatia.

The five day trip is rated ‘moderate’ in terms of difficulty and you will cycle a total of 205km during this time.

Croatia is known for its crystal clear Mediterranean waters, rich culture and fascinating history; with medieval walled towns, cobbled streets and beautiful beaches to explore, which is made all the more interesting when travelling by bike. Sound good? Wait until you hear the rest…

After arriving in Pula, we will stay in the coastal city of Umag for a good night’s sleep in preparation for the first day of cycling, which begins through the quaint villages of Buje, Grožnjan, Livade and Motovun. The rest of the day’s cycle will pass old train stations, vineyards and olive farms, before reaching the historic town of Porec.

On day three we will venture to the beautiful fishing town of Vrsar before cycling along the beautiful Lim Bay, passing traditional, stone built houses and vineyards on the way. The afternoon will include a short cycling tour to Golden Cape National Park, before a late afternoon boat trip with dinner on board.

The last day of cycling will start by heading to the stone town of Bale, where we will continue our journey back towards Pula, making our way through the picturesque Vodnjan village full of churches, gothic houses, palaces and old wells.

You’re tempted aren’t you?

The beautiful scenery will make every kilometre a little easier and the thought of making a difference to the young people we support will be enough to keep you pedalling.

Taking part in this challenge requires a deposit of £275 and minimum sponsorship amount of £2,000.
