The Happiest Country in the World

Mark's training for the Helsinki Half Marathon is now well and truly underway and he is doing an amazing job of spreading the word about Teens Unite.

"Another week closer to the Helsinki Half Marathon on 9th June and another week of training complete. It’s been a week where I’ve had to up my mileage and whilst it’s been a challenge, I’ve succeeded in keeping to my training programme.

The plan I’m using means I’m running five days per week (rest days Monday and Friday) and peaks on a Sunday with my longest run of the week. This Sunday I peaked with a 9.4 mile run. If anybody reading this knows the local area around the Teens Unite offices, they will appreciate the long, gradual hill that leads from Hoddesdon to Hertford via Hertford Heath. A real killer!

As Ambassador for Helsinki Half Marathon, I was given control of their Instagram page this week, which meant I had the chance to post photos and share my weeks training. It was a great opportunity to run down to the Teens Unite offices and get a couple of photos to post on Instagram. With over 1,000 views on the Helsinki Half Marathon Instagram page it was great to get some exposure for the charity.

Three old friends kindly donated big amounts on my fundraising page this week meaning with training going well, getting the charity some exposure and my fundraising getting a boost, all in all it’s been a good week.

If anybody wants to join me out in Finland and also raise vital funds for Teens Unite- it’s not too late! Go to the Helsinki half web page and use the code HHM2018 for a 20% discount.

Voted the happiest country in the world 2018 by Forbes why wouldn’t you want to join me?"
